Abstract
The practical implication for animal breeding of the occurrence of genotype x environment interactions is that one selection environment may be superior to another when selecting for performance in a given production environment. The objective of this paper is to assess the contribution of published experiments to the identification of the most appropriate nutritional environment(s) in which to select for efficient pig meat production, and discuss the direction which future research should take.
