Abstract

Crossbreeding the poorest cows in dairy herds to bulls with superior beef characters is a recognized method, for improving of the efficiency of the combined production of milk and beef. The ec-conomic advantages of beef - dairy crossbreeding have been demonstrated by model calculations, (Anderson and Lindhe 1972, Cunninq- ham 1974 a . o . ).
