Abstract
For a certain number of traits of biological in terest e.g lit t e r size in mammals, the physiological constitution of both the mother and that of her offspring intervene simultaneously. Under these conditions i t is convenient to partition their relative contributions not only at the individual lev el but also at the le vel of the tr a it i t s e l f . In this regard, from a genetic standpoint, Table 1 shows the influence of both male and female parent in the determination of lit t e r size at weaning in the rabbit.
