Abstract

Yak (Bos grunniens ) is relatively recently domesticated
and is bred in high elevated mountain ranges of Central
Asia . It is reared in India (parts of Jammu and Kashm ir,
Himachal Pradesh , Arunach al Pradesh and Uttar  Pradesh ),
Nepal and Bhutan .lt is abundantly found in Tibetan Plateau , 
the Pamirs, Thienshan and Altai , and in Sayan mountains of
Siberia .
