Heritabilities were estimated for 4 strains of White Leghorn breed independently and over pooled data for 3 years involving 11 ,483 observations. Booty- weights at 20 and 40 week of age shewed high and variable estimate of genetic variance within strain basis. Hi^ier heritability estimates were obtained from sire component than dam for age at sexual maturity, egg weight and 280-days egg production indicating presence of sex linked genetic variance. Partitioning of phenotypic variance to its component revealed presence of genotype X environment interaction.
