Abstract
The Super Nucleus Pig Improvement Scheme developed by the Meat and Livestock Commission includes a code of practice covering testing and selection procedures. The results of monitoring such practices are summarised, together with similar information obtained from a survey of the major pig breeding companies in Great Britain. The results and their implications are discussed
