Abstract

Breeding values for stationary performance tested stallions are estimated by applying simplified selection indices considering stallions' own performance only. Results from riding horse competitions are being used for estimating breeding values of individual horses and sires by applying a BLUP animal model. Genetic trends can be shown by averaging estimated breeding values of horses over years.
