Abstract

The effects of selection on carcass composition on rates of genetic progress and inbreeding were evaluated by Monte Carlo simulation. Comparisons are made between selection on individual index and on estimated breeding values calculated from BLUP in closed flocks with normal reproduction and
 embryo transfer.
