Abstract
We investigated the association between Leptin combined genotypes C798T/T3266G and performance, carcass and individual carcass cut traits in F2 pigs produced by divergent crosses. Association analyses were performed using a statistical model that included genotype, sex, batch and genotype-sex interaction as fixed effects, and sire as a random effect. The LEP combined genotypes T3469C/C798T were significantly associated with some production traits. According to results obtained these polymorphisms have potential use in marker-assisted selection programs in pigs.
